ECFP Sequence

ECFP was derived from W7 with the following mutations: M1_S2insV/F64L/S65T/K212N/H231L

Note: The ECFP line is sometimes incorrectly reported as having the mutation N149I (instead of N146I) with respect to wild-type avGFP (e.g. see Supp Table 2 of Shaner et al 2005 ... since corrected in the online media). The correct mutation is N146I, which first appeared in the W7 mutant (Heim & Tsien 1996), from which most CFPs are evolved.
