Due to the high value and pH-resistance of the QE, MiCy would probably be a more efficient and reliable donor for FRET than ECFP. In addition, fluorescence lifetime measurement revealed that MiCy fluorescence displayed as a single exponential decay with a time constant of 3.4 ns.
