moxNeonGreen Sequence

moxNeonGreen was derived from mNeonGreen with the following mutations: C139S
amino acid numbers relative to LanYFP. show relative to mNeonGreen

Note: Note: this sequence is a best guess. Constantini et al. (2015) says "we were able to create a cysteine-less green alternative to GFP family members, moxNeonGreen, an oxidizing environment-optimized variant of the recently described mNeonGreen", but does not provide more information. The sequence below is the result of mutating the only cysteine in mNeonGreen to serine.

Excerpts

We had different results with mNeonGreen and moxNeonGreen. Both versions formed actin stress fibers. However, neither version was significantly incorporated into microtubules. In the original report, it was unclear how long the linker was, but we tried both lengths and had the same result.
