SYFP2 is a basic (constitutively fluorescent) yellow fluorescent protein published in 2006, derived from Aequorea victoria. It is reported to be a very rapidly-maturing monomer with moderate acid sensitivity.

SYFP2 was derived from
mVenus with the following mutations: L68V

avGFP. show relative to mVenus
Changing leucine68 back to valine decreased the relative bleaching time of
SYFP2 by 30%. Thus, mutation V68L contributes to the photostability of YFP.
